Our new servers ARE being implemented
ON 21st October 2024 starting at 6pm

You may be aware that over the last couple of months we’ve been working away in the background with our upline provider, Servers Australia, developing our new servers.

GREAT NEWS!

We are in the final stages now and have arranged for this to happen starting from 6pm on Monday the 21st of October.

What does that mean for you?

For you, our valued customer, here are the main advantages (in short):

  • Increased performance – up to 10x faster website delivery is expected!!
  • Uptime and data protection – website and data safety with next to zero downtime!!
  • Security & Ransomware – highly resistant to online attacks with super-fast recovery options!!

What’s all the fuss?

Our new servers are based on state-of-the-art cutting-edge technology known as Virtualised Data Centre aka VDC, which is a software-based representation of a physical Data Centre, offering a variety of cloud infrastructure elements like servers, storage clusters, and networking components to businesses.

What’s going to happen?

From approximately 6pm on Monday the 21st, a generic diskmandotnet branded maintenance page will be posted in front of every customer’s website which will prevent anyone interacting with any website hosted with us.

This will ensure that no changes are made to your website while the migration of data is processed from the old servers to the new ones. For example, we don’t want anyone to be editing a site, or for your customers to be ordering products during the migration; otherwise data might not be properly synchronised.

The maintenance pages will be in effect for 4-5 hours.

  • Approx. 6pm – work will begin and maintenance pages will replace websites during the cutover
  • Approx. 6pm – 9pm – data sync will take about 3 hours

  • Approx. 9pm-10pm – cutover of IP addresses will take place – essentially launching our new servers and decommissioning the old servers. During this, final, part of the process, there may be a period of 15-30 minutes where there will be some perceived downtime. This is entirely normal and websites etc will resume as soon as the techs have completed their tasks.
  • Approx. 10pm – 11pm – maintenance pages will be removed from all websites and we will be testing all sites to ensure they’re up and running. If any issues our tech team will be on standby to assist.

Note: times may vary either way depending on the smoothness of transition (quicker or slower) and so the end time may also vary.

Please be patient

We are very excited about being able to deliver new and exciting technologies to our customers, so being patient during the transition to our new systems is important though.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to not only maintaining but exceeding your expectations.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out via support@diskman.net where any one of our team can get back to you.

Note: if you require to access your customer account, you can do by visiting our client console directly here.

Kind regards
