Please be advised that diskmandotnet’s Operations staff will be performing a previously unscheduled maintenance works to our servers on Tuesday 7th of October between 9:00pm and 10.00pm.
Maintenance window: 21:00 (AEST) 07-10-2014 – 22:00 (AEST) 07-10-2014.
Type of maintenance: MySQL and MySQLi Updates
Customer impact: Possibility for 1 or 2 web site service outages lasting 10-20 minutes each.
Description of works:
Our commitment to our clients is to always provide you as close as possible the best and most reliable service possible.
In addition to performing some upgrades which we’ve been holding off, we also have had several requests to install the MySQLi Extension (MySQL Improved) which is a relational database driver used in the PHP programming language to provide an interface with MySQL databases. It’s an opportunity for us to perform a few important other updates as well.
The install and upgrade process is quick and usually uneventful, however, there is a chance that we may have to interrupt your web site service in order to make the upgrades take effect (a little like restarting your computer, after system updates are made).
It is unknown if there will definitely be a web site service outage at this stage, but we are letting you know there could be an interruption.
We, however, do not envisage an interruption to email services at all.
