Upload Images

To add images or other items to be displayed on your website, you must first UPLOAD the file to the server.

Note: Files should be no larger than 1Mb in size. The system often says 8Mb, but you will experience problems trying to upload files that are larger due to timeouts. We recommend you reduce the size to below 1Mb before attempting to upload. Also your web hosting account may have a limit on how much you can upload, so reducing file size of images is good either way.

i) To upload files:

Option 1:

- Open a NEW or edit an existing page (through Content Items Manager)

- The top-right hand buttons should have an UPLOAD button, next to SAVE. Click it. A pop up window will appear.

- Browse your hard drive and find the image you want to upload. Select it.

- Click UPLOAD.

The image is now uploaded and stored in the /images/stories folder of your site. You can then select the uploaded image after clicking the Insert/Edit Image button onm the formatting bar.  If it doesn’t appear in the insert Images pop up window, click refresh.

Option 2:

1. Open a NEW or edit an existing page (through Content Items Manager)

2. Click where you want the image inserted

3. Click Insert/Edit Image

4 Click the little grey hard disk icon, on the image editor window.  This will pop up a "browse your computer" window.  Find the file, click it and add it to the upload window.  Then tick the box to select it after uploading.

Once it's uploaded and selected you can format the image how you wish (see Edit the Properties of an Image)

Basically this option allows you to upload and insert the image in one step.

Option 3:

- Go back to the HOME area, or click home in the menu.

- Click on ‘Media Manager’.

- All files should be saved in the ‘/stories’ folder – click on stories folder.

- Click on the ‘Browse…’ button in the right upper side

- Choose the file (should be saved somewhere on hard drive or other disk) and click open

- Click the ‘Upload’ button. This will save the file to the /stories folder. If it is an image it will appear in the image list when you go to create/edit a web page (see ‘To insert an image’).

Note: Option 1 is the easy method, and is recommended for novices. Option 2 is probably the best way once you're used to the CMS and Option 3 is more complicated but offers access to the stories folder to delete images if needed.
